The cross is modelled in 9 karat gold, with an amazingly detailed enamel rendering of Christ with a chased star halo. Above is the initialism INRI, which represents the Latin inscription: IESVS NAZARENVS REX IVDORVM, or "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews" (John 19: 19).
