The front depicts a quill pen and paper, with the words "Les Paroles S'envolent Les Ecrits Restent" translating to Words Disappear, Writings Remain, which could be looked at in a number of different ways 'Spoken, forgotten; written, eternal' or 'Once spoken, gone; Once written, forever'.
