On Hold: Georgian Garnet Heart Padlock Locket chinese and later exported to theDATE: Georgian, c. 1820 A superb Georgian heart padlock pendant with glass locket compartment at the back. The front is home to a vivid red garnet, foil backed to enhance its colour, and an applied repouss rococo style border. The piece was originally designed as a bracelet or necklace clasp, and as such the top bar is hinged on opens. It dates from the early 19th century, circa 1820, and remains in great condition 200 years on. STONES Garnet
